The Value of the Professional
November 10, 2007 by chad.
On Tuesday I had the opportunity to give a training to a group of realtors in the St Cloud area on the benefits of blogging, webinars, and all other manner of creating a larger internet footprint. As we all well know now thet internet can be a great medium for good and bad information. All you need do is enter the search criteria Britany Speares to read scores of opinions, bashing, and support for this troubled woman and her shambles of a life. If used wisely the internet can help broaden any business base besides through have a business website.
Anyway, I do not want this post to get mired in subject matter too far off the point. During this training I was talking about the knowledge value realtors have to the average joe. I for one do not fix my Jeep when it needs work. Why? Because what takes me 10 hours and a lot of pain would take then less than an hour. There’s value in time spent wisely. For me to sell my own house is the same thing.
Everyone is wired up differently and they are skilled in certain areas. It would be folly to believe that we could do anything without the help of professionals. It’s a waste of time to do so, and ultimately time is the only resource we are given in a limited capacity when we are born. It is up to us to assign value to the endeavors we participate in. Remember, if we could do everything we would be an aberation. As my time at the Stomping Grounds is coming to an end I will try to elaborate on this later.

Storytime at the Stomping Ground, Staples, MN
November 10, 2007 by chad.
Every community should have a coffee shop like the Stomping Ground in Staples, MN. It is a community project coffee shop for HS students to learn entriprenuerial and work skills, but it is much more than that. Since Robin is from Staples we are tied to this community enough that we find ourselves at the coffee shop almost everytime we come to visit her family. On Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 is stpry hour. Story hour is a tradition in this town and is frequented by atleast 20 kids at all times. It gives the kids entertainment with a live, and exceedingly bombastic, storyteller, it gives the parents time to spend talking to other parents, and it creates another community centered point for a small town to focus attention to. Its one of those things that almost all small communities either have or need desperately to compete in the big world. It’s what makes community a community. My kids love it…and hey they have free internet on a couple computers for people to access so life is good. I encourage all to visit their webpage and visualize how a model like this could become a great focal point your your community. Afterall coffee and caffiene have not deminished in popularity like other vices.
Maybe that is a good discussion topic. The power that caffiene has in our society and our ever growing dependance on it in order to function in the high speed world. Hmmm…
